ClubFloyd Transcript:
Far-Out Space Freaks by J. Robinson Wheeler
Interstellar Pizza Brigade by Peregrine Wade
As played on ifMUD on October 23, 2016

The idea behind ClubFloyd is that each week at a pre-arranged time, a group of people meet online to cooperatively play a game of interactive fiction.

Below is a transcript of Far-Out Space Freaks written by J. Robinson Wheeler, and Interstellar Pizza Brigade written by Peregrine Wade. You can learn more about the games, including how to download them, by visiting the IFDB pages: Interstellar Pizza Brigade, and Far-Out Space Freaks.

WARNING! Below you will find a transcript of people playing these games, and it goes without saying that the transcript is full of spoilers. So, if you've never played these games, and think you might like to at some point, I do not recommend reading any further. Instead, you might want to return to the interactive fiction page.

Peregrine asks, "What about the 18th Anniversary SpeedIF?"
Peregrine says, "There's Rob's game and mine on the IFarchive"
DavidW says, "I haven't seen any of those."
Roger says, "Yeah I'm up for those"
Jacqueline asks, "Link?"
Peregrine says, "[LINK]"
Peregrine says, "It's the one calle SpeedIF_18thAnniversary.zip"
Peregrine says, "Beware: both games are very silly."
Jacqueline says (to Floyd), "load sleepmask speed18farout"

Floyd | Ship's Bridge
Floyd | The bridge is a chaotic turmoil of viewscreens overloading with
Floyd | warning messages and a full portal view of nightmarish solar flares,
Floyd | barely dimmed by filters and polarization. Sparks pop out of consoles

Floyd | > X ME
Floyd |
Floyd | You are Anne Walken, Emergencies Specialist, assigned to the
Floyd | spacecraft Centennial Crow for a period of up to (and potentially
Floyd | including) five years, plus time dilation. So far, the only emergency
Floyd | requiring your expertise was when there was that nasty toilet paper
Floyd | shortage, and that was nine months ago. It is fairly safe to say that
Floyd | you are a wee bit bored. Your previous job was much more exciting,
Floyd | since (among other things) it involved fighting off giant space
Floyd | monsters, dealing with spaceship crews going on strike (all you needed
Floyd | to use was an instant cloning machine, it turned out), and other
Floyd | suchlike things.
Floyd |
Floyd | The captain yawns. "I can't seem to stay awake, Walken. And this is
Floyd | one tricky maneuver to make... Steering a ship between an exploding
Floyd | star and a supermassive black hole ain't a piece of cake."

Peregrine asks, "See?"
Peregrine says, "It's like something has randomized it"
DavidW says, "It's probably easy to find in the code."

DavidW says, "We probably never entered Pizza-Delivery the first time."

Floyd | This is (literally) the heart of the spaceship. The Tube - a great
Floyd | column of technological wizardry - rises from the floor, and stretches
Floyd | all the way up to the ceiling above. The sleeping quarters are
Floyd | portside, the eating quarters are starboardside, the flight deck is
Floyd | forward and - most important of all - the spaceship's vitally
Floyd | important cargo is aft.
Floyd |
Floyd | You can see Lieutenant Hatwonsky's corpse here.

DavidW says, "I liked both games."
Peregrine says, "That's kind of you to say :)"
DavidW says, "There's two other games in this speed-if, but they're not Floydable."
Peregrine says, "Well, I must be off to bed shortly."
Jacqueline says, "'Night"
DavidW says, "ok. Thanks for the game, Peregrine."
Peregrine says (to DavidW), "You're welcome."
Peregrine exclaims (at Everyone), "Bonne nuit!"
Peregrine hops into the DeLorean and heads off to the future. DavidW says, "All this talk of pizza has made me a little peckish. I don't really want pizza, but maybe a sub? Not sure."
DavidW says, "I had some noodles before we started."
