ClubFloyd Transcript:
Bureaucrocy by Adri
As played on ifMUD on May 4, 2014

The idea behind ClubFloyd is that each week at a pre-arranged time, a group of people meet online to cooperatively play a game of interactive fiction.

Below is a transcript of Bureaucrocy written by Adri. You can learn more about the game, including how to download it, by visiting IFDB.

WARNING! Below you will find a transcript of people playing this game, and it goes without saying that the transcript is full of spoilers. So, if you've never played this game, and think you might like to at some point, I do not recommend reading any further. Instead, you might want to return to the interactive fiction page.

inky says, "is this bureaucracy with crocodiles? that is what I am assuming"
Jacqueline says, "I believe so, yes."
Jacqueline says, "There is an adorable little crocodile for the cover art. It is wearing a tiny suit."

Jacqueline says, "Also, I continue to be impressed with other people's ability to figure that out. My brain doesn't get beyond the misspelling, even though I know why it's misspelled."
Jacqueline shrugs.
Gerynar arrives, full of neither funk nor fun.
djfletch arrives, full of funk, but no fun. inky says, "ha ha, this rules"
Jacqueline says, "The image? Yeah, it's awesome."
Allen says (to Jacq), "that image is from Glitch"
Allen says, "after Glitch shut down, they licensed all their art creative-commons, which was very generous"
Nitku arrives, full of fun and funk. Jacqueline says, "Ah, cool."
Allen says, "this is me, in glitch, by the way: [LINK]"
Nitku says, "Those pants don't look very shrimpy to me"
Jacqueline says, "hahaha"
Jacqueline | Allen Garvin: 43-year-old UNIX admin, viol player, coin collector, homebrewer. His true avocation, however, is spoiling cats.
Jacqueline exclaims, "That pretty much sums it up. Nicely done!"
Allen arrives, full of fun, but no funk. Jacqueline asks, "Okay, then. Shall we?"
Jacqueline says (to Floyd), "load sleepmask bureaucrocy"
Guest1 arrives, ready to play with the toys.

DavidW says, "Maybe there's an art school in the Meadow."

DavidW says, "Or an ad on the water cooler."
DavidW says, "let's wait."
Jacqueline says, "For inky? Sure."
Jacqueline says, "But I have a question in the meantime."
Jacqueline says, "(Well, waiting for inky and Katie, I guess I should say.)"
Gerynar says, "the answer is forty-two"
Jacqueline asks, "So far all we've seen is the subway entrance, the street, and the Hall. No other locations have been suggested, right?"
DavidW says, "The answer is, no, I didn't get enough sleep last night again."
pollux says (to Jacqueline), "I didn't see any."
DavidW says, "Unless there's a tunnel under the plastic chairs."
Jacqueline says, "I'm just wondering where we can go to learn the Arts, given that this guy clearly doesn't plan to teach us anything."
DavidW says, "Or maybe we just 'learn arts'."
Allen says, "I already played this through last week. I meant to send ggg a list of suggestions but never got around to it :("
djfletch says, "I want to see what happens if we just eat all our currants"
djfletch asks, "also, is currants a pun on currants-y?"
Jacqueline says (to Allen), "You played it through even though you knew we were about to play it? Mrf."
Jacqueline says (to djf), "Ah. Possibly."
Allen says (to Jacq), "no, I didn't know. ggg posted it, and I knew she had been working on a glitch game"
Allen says, "but also, I know the original puzzles on the MMO"
Jacqueline says, "Ah. This announcement has been on the bb for about two weeks."
Jacqueline says, "Glitch looks like it was cute. I'll bet you all were sad when it went away."
Allen says, "I rarely show up for CF, you know. This is viol day"
Jacqueline asks, "Any idea why it ended?"
Allen says, "but Harriet is out"
Allen says, "they ran out of money"
Allen says, "it was announced about a month before the end, and they really, really went out of their way to make the last month a fun experience"
Jacqueline asks, "Damn. Why is it businesses are all so caught up in money?"
Gerynar guesses that it has something to do with the employees wanting to eat
Jacqueline says (to Allen), "Oh? Excellent. Sounds like a good group of people."
Allen says, "it was the founder of Flickr that provided the original capital, and did lots and lots of the coding"
Allen says, "hence, the in-game snapshotting feature was called Glitchr"
Jacqueline says, "The art is really beautiful."
Allen says, "it was super whimsical."
Allen says, "if you had the tiniest of whimsy bones, you would be completely charmed within 10 minutes"
Allen says, "the whole point was to run around being kind and cooperating with other plays and having silly fun. It attracted an odd collection of players"
DavidW says, "hm. I'm trying to remember a trio of games we haven't played yet, but I can't noodle out any keywords to search for. I thought they were 'Adventure Time', but that wasn't it."
Jacqueline asks (of DW), "Is it a trio of games where we'll grab our friends and go to very distant lands?"
DavidW says, "I haven't played them, so I don't know."
Jacqueline smiles.
Jacqueline says, "So, I whispered to inky for an update a bit ago, and didn't hear back."
DavidW says, "I remember that the names of the games were confusing in the sense that it wasn't obvious whether they were a new edition or a sequel."
Jacqueline says, "For me that is all the Andromeda games."
inky arrives, full of fun and funk. DavidW says, "no, not the Andromeda ones."
