ClubFloyd Transcript:
Zorkian Stories 1: G.U.E. by Marshal Tenner Winter
As played on ifMUD on March 10, 2013

The idea behind ClubFloyd is that each week at a pre-arranged time, a group of people meet online to cooperatively play a game of interactive fiction.

Below is a transcript of Zorkian Stories 1: G.U.E. written by Marshal Tenner Winter. This game was released in 2012. You can learn more about this game, including how to download it, by visiting the ifWiki. (As of the date of this transcript, however, there's a lot more information about the game over at IFDB.)

WARNING! Below you will find a transcript of people playing this game, and it goes without saying that the transcript is full of spoilers. So, if you've never played this game, and think you might like to at some point, I do not recommend reading any further. Instead, you might want to return to the interactive fiction page.

#ClubFloyd Discussion

DavidW says, "I am both attracted and repelled from Zorkian Stories. Like, I like Zork stuff, but new authors have a tendency to just. not. get. it."
Jacqueline exclaims (at DW), "Well, we could be like the grand Implementors in the sky and look down upon that game and judge it!"
Jacqueline says, "I have been pleased by at least one modern, non-Infocom Zork thing."
Jacqueline says, "So it's possible that it's great."
DavidW says, "That would be pleasant."
DavidW says, "unlike that zork blood choas part 1, or whatever it was called."
Jacqueline says, "Well, maga hates Zork full stop, but he rarely plays anyway, and no one else is talking, so maybe since you and I both are open to the possibility that it will be fun, perhaps we should see if the Zork game is fun."
DavidW asks (of maga), "??"
Jacqueline says, "(The pleasant new Zork experience I was in reference to was Zork: A Troll's-Eye View, btw... which I thought was just terribly clever.)"
Jacqueline says (to DW), "I'm not making this up."
Jacqueline says, "He hates everything that is old school."
Zach arrives, ready to play with the toys. Jacqueline says, "He hates the kids on our lawn, too."
DavidW says, "oh dear"
Jacqueline asks, "maga is 78. Did you not know this?"
DavidW says, "I did not."
maga says, "meh"
Jacqueline asks (of DW), "See?"
maga says, "(and yes, I have never enjoyed Zork very much, and consider homages to it to be a giant waste of everybody's time)"
Jacqueline asks (of DW), "See?"
Jacqueline says (to DW), "I don't understand it, either."
Jacqueline asks, "Anyway, shall we?"
DavidW says, "I'm getting verklempt."
