ClubFloyd Transcript:
Fuddo and Slam 2: The Fishing-Trip (Brown Trout and Goblins)
by John Wilson

As played on ifMUD on June 27, 2021

The idea behind ClubFloyd is that each week at a pre-arranged time, a group of people meet online to cooperatively play a game of interactive fiction.

Below is a transcript of Fuddo and Slam 2: The Fishing-Trip (Brown Trout and Goblins) written by John Wilson. Fuddo and Slam 2: The Fishing-Trip (Brown Trout and Goblins) was written to illustrate the option in 'PunyInform' to change between the main characters. You can learn more about the game, including how to download it, by visiting IFDB.

WARNING! Below you will find a transcript of people playing this game, and it goes without saying that the transcript is full of spoilers. So, if you've never played this game, and think you might like to at some point, I do not recommend reading any further. Instead, you might want to return to the interactive fiction page.

#ClubFloyd Discussion

Roger says, "sorry, still too hot to think here"
Roger says, "But I'm up for anything"
Knight_Otu says, "I think something cute or uplifting, without a pandemic reminder, would be nice, but I'm not choosing. We know what happens when I choose."
MoyTravis says, "I agree but have no idea what to choose for that. Or what to choose in general, really."
MoyTravis exclaims, "So...not it!"
Roger says, "'The Fishing Trip' looks pretty lightweight from its description"
Jacqueline has arrived. Jacqueline says, "I like fishing."
Knight_Otu exclaims, "Hey Jacq!"
Jacqueline says, "Heya."
Knight_Otu says, "Doesn't look like its uploaded yet. At least not under F."
Jacqueline says, "Oh, I can take care of that."
Jacqueline says, "One sec."
Jacqueline asks, "'The Fishing-Trip - Brown Trout and Goblins'?"
Knight_Otu says, "I didn't see any other fishing trip at least."
Jacqueline says (to ClubFloyd), "load sleepmask fishingtrip"

DavidW says, "This requires a lot more patience and mapping."
Roger says, "fair enough! Your tenacity is admirable."
DavidW says, "I can do this sort of thing on my own, but not really in a group format."
Jacqueline asks, "Yeah. I'm fine with never knowing. Unless, Roger, you want to summarize the ending?"
DavidW says, "You have to be really tenacious."
MoyTravis says, "This is the kind of game that isn't really...For Me. So."
Roger says, "yeah it might not be well-suited for group play"
Roger says, "oh I didn't finish it"
Jacqueline says (to Roger), "Ah"
Roger says, "I might give it a stab later tonight though"
Jacqueline says, "Also, just recall that this was done as a demo to show off a feature."
Roger says, "I wouldn't expect any big plot twists"
DavidW says, "Perhaps I'll write a walkthrough for this one some day."
Roger says, "The one technical trick is sort of interesting"
DavidW says, "But right now, I'm baffled with the tunnel maps. I didn't do a good job on the fly."
Roger says, "yeah the tunnels are way more evil than they need to be"
Roger says, "extremely non-Euclidean"
Knight_Otu says, "They're a maze. That's all there is to say."
DavidW says, "Going west from Tunnel Exit went to Rocky Ledge, but east didn't return me to Tunnel Exit, but to a Tunnel."
Roger says, "to the extent I have a pro-tip, it's to open the chests if you can, but don't take the contents. That makes them a bit more identifiable."
DavidW says, "Well, that's more obvious NOW, of course."
Roger says, "heh well yes"
Jacqueline smiles.
Jacqueline says, "Well, thanks all. Sorry that was frustrating."
DavidW says, "At this point, I'd want to start afresh."
Roger says, "yeah"
Jacqueline says, "Yeah. I'd want there to be more fishing, less... tunnels."
Knight_Otu says, "Yeah, far less fishing than advertised."
DavidW says, "oh, if you wanted fishing, there's at least three other games for that."
Jacqueline says, "I feel like I was lured in on false pretenses. Pun possibly intended."
MoyTravis says, "Definitely true."
