ClubFloyd Transcript:
Measureless To Man by Ivan R.
As played on ifMUD on November 5, 2017

The idea behind ClubFloyd is that each week at a pre-arranged time, a group of people meet online to cooperatively play a game of interactive fiction.

Below is a transcript of Measureless To Man written by Ivan R.. Measureless to Man was an entry in the 2017 Interactive Fiction Competition, in which it took 43rd place. You can learn more about the game, including how to download it, by visiting IFDB.

WARNING! Below you will find a transcript of people playing this game, and it goes without saying that the transcript is full of spoilers. So, if you've never played this game, and think you might like to at some point, I do not recommend reading any further. Instead, you might want to return to the interactive fiction page.

Floyd | took a short jaunt from Cairo (first class, which for reasons of
Floyd | integrity condemned you to ride economy on the way back to the
Floyd | states—but you didn't really mind). You had let him know you were

Floyd | starting to wonder if there was something more to it than
Floyd | loneliness... Grandfather had been acting strangely, all weekend. He
Floyd | never left the house. He spoke in whispers, even when grandmother was
Floyd | out with her friends. He spoke loudly to her, just to be heard. But
Floyd | never with you. He seemed afraid.
Floyd |
Floyd | And now he had sent you to get a key.
Floyd |

Floyd | It was the outermost chamber of the place your grandfather told you
Floyd | about. South, a shaft of daylight shone through the arch, beckoning to
Floyd | you. The street. The world. Further north, a narrow tunnel that once
Floyd | led inside was now blocked by a heap of rubble, ancient. It looked
