ClubFloyd Transcript:
Onna Kabuki: A Tale of Theatre and Revenge by Victor Ojuel
Prizon by Jason Gamble
As played on ifMUD on August 20, 2017

The idea behind ClubFloyd is that each week at a pre-arranged time, a group of people meet online to cooperatively play a game of interactive fiction.

Below is a transcript of Onna Kabuki: A Tale of Theatre and Revenge written by Victor Ojuel, and Prizon written by Jason Gamble. Onna Kabuki and Prizon were entries in the 2017 IntroComp. Onna Kabuki took second place, and Prizon received an Honorable Mention. You can learn more about the games, including how to download them, by visiting the IFDB pages: Onna Kabuki: A Tale of Theatre and Revenge, and Prizon.

WARNING! Below you will find a transcript of people playing these games, and it goes without saying that the transcript is full of spoilers. So, if you've never played these games, and think you might like to at some point, I do not recommend reading any further. Instead, you might want to return to the interactive fiction page.

#ClubFloyd Discussion

Guenni asks, "is any gameplan in place for today?"
DavidW says, "Uh, I don't know for certain, but I would guess we'll play another IntroComp entry unless people strongly want to play something else."
Jacqueline says, "Yes."
Knight_Otu says, "That's been my assumption as well."
Jacqueline says, "And I'm back. Sorry for the delay."
DavidW asks, "Last week, we played The Adam and Eve Project. Unless I slept through last Sunday, and that was two weeks ago?"
Jacqueline says, "No, that was indeed last week."
Guenni says, "no problem."
Jacqueline says (to Floyd), "load sleepmask onnakabuki"

Floyd |
Floyd | Besieged castle
Floyd | Akechi stands tall on the battlements, bloodied sword in hand. Perhaps
Floyd | just an hour before dawn, and he knows it all shall be over well
Floyd | before sunrise. The enemy soldiers are everywhere! Tokugawa's lackeys
Floyd | will have another day to brag about, starting with the accursed Lord
Floyd | Konkawa. Enemies are storming the castle from all directions except
Floyd | from the north, and to the east the tower still resists the onslaught.
Floyd |
Floyd | The air is dense with arrows and musket volleys, the ground drinks
Floyd | fresh blood avidly. The castle is lost, his Lord is lost... but

Floyd |
Floyd |
Floyd | A pilgrim in the snow.
Floyd | Winter.
Floyd |
Floyd | Many days have passed, and even the bitterest winter comes to an end.
Floyd | Your stop for a while, interrupting the sound of steps on the crunchy
Floyd | snow. Night is falling behind the tall trees. Time to find a place to
Floyd | rest your weary bones until the morning.
Floyd |
Floyd | Moonlit forest
Floyd | Darkness is falling fast. The pines are darkened, and beyond them a
Floyd | river sings its bubbly song among the reeds of the northern shore.
Floyd | Lording over the whole nightscape, a castle is silhouetted in silver
Floyd | against the rising moon. The breeze sings in the branches, stirring

Floyd | At a crossroads, gurgling of water on stone, distant laughter. To the

Floyd | - a roadside inn.

Floyd | Edo, the floating world...
Floyd | Summer.
Floyd |
Floyd | The kabuki play will start soon. And yet again, time and place shall
Floyd | dissolve, identities will be confused, and an old tragedy will be made
Floyd | real again for the audience. You can hear the audience on the other
Floyd | side of the curtain, talking, laughing, drinking, almost holding their
Floyd | breath in anticipation for today's play. They have come to see
Floyd | beautiful women, brave samurai, dastardly villains, daring deeds and
Floyd | titillating innuendo. A story to take their minds off the daily toil
Floyd | and business of Edo life. A fantasy to forget the grayness of a
Floyd | military rule, or so they expect...

Floyd | The green room is teeming with other actresses chatting, putting on

Floyd | performance. Not long to go until it starts, better get ready. The

Floyd | your chambers in the upper floor.
Floyd |
Floyd | One of the newest actresses smiles nervously at you, perhaps
Floyd | intimidated by the thought of appearing on-stage so soon.
